Funding period 2: 01.07.2015 – 30.06.2019

Project A02 aims at incorporating a frame-based theory of lexical semantics into an architecture for a syntax-semantics interface. The syntactic formalism chosen for the latter, lexicalized tree adjoining grammar (LTAG), features an extended domain of locality, which allows for a local realization of valency frames and which facilitates the distinction between lexical and construction-specific semantic information. In its second funding period, A02 concentrates on cross modification, modification of complex predicates, and idiomatic multi-word expressions in English and German. It will test its analyses via the implementation of a grammar fragment.
